Cheadle Nomads vs Town Preview

With just 11 games left to play this campaign, Wythenshawe Town have the chance to make a swift start to the anchor leg as we visit the Proseal Stadium to face Cheadle Heath Nomads.

Before the flood of postponements, Town saw out a comprehensive 5-0 victory against tomorrow night’s hosts, launching us into the promotion places.

A memorable night for all as the Ericstan faithful witnessed a Brad Byrne brace, Liam Myers continuing his red-hot scoring form and Jerome Wright netting as he proudly proclaimed he would!

Not the first time that we have felled our upcoming entertainers as we eased through from the last 16 of the cup with a comfortable 4-1 win in December.

Following the huge comeback victory on Saturday afternoon against fellow promotion chasers Abbey Hey, the confidence amongst the squad is ten-fold, making it 7 wins in a row for James Kinsey’s men.

Although our opponents shipped another five goals last time out against local rivals Stockport Town, they are no strangers to springing a surprise result, so this game is by no means to be taken lightly.

But Town aren’t to be fazed by any potential speed bumps along the way and will approach this one as they have the rest of the season – with a desire and hunger for all three points and having only lost once this calendar year, it’s a record we’d like to keep in-tact.

Pre-match thoughts

“Cheadle will be looking to hit back after Saturday’s result. We’ve got a few injury problems going into the game but that’s the reason we have a great squad available.

“We just can’t afford to be complacent. We have to keep taking it one game at a time and look to keep ticking them off. It won’t be easy as they will be looking to respond to the recent game between us.”
